Welcome to Middle River Mountain Dogs

About Middle River Mountain Dogs
We are a family of 6 with a small acreage located in Central Iowa near Indianola.
We love Bernese Mountain Dogs and are excited to be breeding quality puppies!
We have Lola who was born May 2021, she has been a wonderful addition to our family!
If you would like to learn more about Lola and see her pedigree, you can find her on Bernergarde.org Dog ID #204836
We also welcomed Luna into our family on Valentines Day of 2024. She will
eventually be part of our breeding program, but for now she is busy learning how to
be an obedient puppy.

A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to hold a pup. Deposits will be accepted after the puppies are 1 week old. The deposit will go towards your final balance. We take deposits via Venmo.
The final balance is due in cash before a pup can go to its new home.
The price is $2250 for limited AKC registration. Males and Females are the same price. Some pups may be available for full registration for $3,000. Full registration gives you the right to breed and show.
A buyer who purchases a puppy with Limited AKC Registration agrees that the animal will be spayed/neutered no earlier than 9 months and will not be used for breeding for any reason. Should you wish to breed your dog at some point you must contact the breeder and follow the proper protocol, have the proper health testing done and passed, pay the breeder the additional money owed for a Full AKC Registered dog, and have your paperwork changed to Full AKC Registration which can only be done by the breeder. Should you breed your dog without permission and without the proper Full AKC Registration paperwork authorized by the breeder you are subject to an unauthorized breeding fine of $2,000 that must be paid to the breeder immediately and you must provide the breeder with proof of spay or neuter at the earliest date possible. Should you continue to breed your dog without the breeder’s permission, you will be subject to a $5,000 fine and you will need to return your dog to the breeder with AKC papers signed over. Absolutely no breeding mix breed dogs of any kind, for any reason.
If a puppy is purchased for breeding and is diagnosed with a non-life threatening problem, making it ineligible for breeding, the price difference between full registration and limited registration for a pup from that litter will be refunded after proof of spay or neuter.
Puppies are a big responsibility of time and financial commitment. We care so much for our puppies and have invested so much energy and love into them. We realize that sometimes the commitment can be more than you bargained for. We ask that, in the event that you are not able to care for your Berner pup — FOR ANY REASON—you will contact us to take your puppy back and re-home it.
The pups will have their dew claws removed between 3-5 days old.
Puppies will be vet checked and vaccinated at 6 weeks.
Puppies will be wormed at 2, 4 & 6 Weeks of age.
We take very good care of our puppies until they are 8 weeks of age and are able to go to their new homes. At that time their care is completely transferred to their new owners. We can not be responsible for what a pup is exposed to when it leaves our care. I, Alicia Roth at Middle River Mountain Dogs, am not liable for anything that happens to the pup after it is picked up from my home.
